Andrew hitting the streets in Derby a training run

We are delighted that Andrew Lowe, Marketing and Communications Manager at our partner Marketing Derby, will be running the London Marathon 2019 to raise funds for us.

After several years of trying, DCHC was allocated a place in the world’s most famous marathon, and Andrew is stepping up to conquer the 26 miles course on Sunday April 28th.

Keep a check on his progress with regular updates on our Facebook and Twitter feeds. More on the marathon is on our events page.

You can sponsor Andrew’s excellent efforts through his Just Giving page or get in touch with us at DCHC at

In our busy Marketing Derby office, we often talk about the power of our Bondholder community and how coincidence and serendipity makes interesting things happen.

Andrew took up running when he turned 40 and have entered the ballot for the London Marathon every year without success.  Since then he has completed six marathons – five of which were under the four hour mark – which is a well-respected time amongst the running community – clocking up over 4,500 miles.

He said: “January is the time of year when you might be thinking about booking a holiday, or you may already have, and are looking forward to it later in the year.  It’s something that we all take for granted.

“Yet there are hundreds of children and young people across Derby and Derbyshire that, for whatever reason, won’t have that opportunity.

“DCHC gives them that chance, gives them that dream, and gives them a real hand-up in life. This is why I’m so keen to support them.”

Go on Andrew – you’ve got everyone here (and all the deserving children of Derbyshire) right behind you!
